Blossoms in the air

This is new for us here at Adornit, but I am super excited because it is such a great value!  WE will be doing monthly craft projects custom for your home available in a kit.  The kit will include not only the wood, but also paper, ribbon, and embellishments!

After having so much fun with the hanging hearts for valentines day I had to create another project with that concept.  So for spring time my first craft project is flowers that suspend from the ceiling. Which would be super cute to hang in the corner of your family room for a seasonal item. Another bonus is that they were so easy to put together it probably took me an hour max and that includes drying time for the mod podge :).

If you have not ventured into wood deco-podging and are curious feel free to email me at adornitchix@yahoo.com for some tips and tricks on how to mod podge on wood and I will love to help out.

Sorry so long no post!  Nathan and I have been very busy.  We purchased a home and so we have been moving in and getting set up.

House

(My dad made me the metal flowers for my wedding.)

It's a cute 3 bedroom, 2 bathrooms and nate even let me turn one of the bedrooms into my very own craft room! Here is just a glimpse into my home. :)

And my favorite room in the house... My crafty room nate even painted it for me as a surprise while I was gone on a little trip-what a sweet heart.

Craft Room

Mirrors

So my basement is 90% cement and I wasn't sure how I was going to hang pictures or anything on my walls, but I had these adorable mirrors that I fixed up and really wanted to put in my craft room. The idea came to me to use velcro to stick them to the wall.  So after work I went home and tried it and it works perfectly.

Well my house is coming together slowly but surly and I am lovin the space and a kitchen that I can cook in :).

Hanging Wood Heart set

Untitled-1

This is a close up of my favorite heart.  To make it dimensional
I mod-podged on Lovefest Words and then I cut a smaller heart shape out of scarlet love
and used craft glue dots to adhere it to the bottom layer and then I creased that paper toward the center of the heart so that the heart would pop up from the bottom layer.  I hope that wasn't to confusing.

I just got this sewing machine

Activa-230_0
And i love it but now all i do is sew on my craft projects.

I love the ribbon detail on this small heart.  I just folded the ribbon on top of itself and then stapled it in place. I also used jewel droplets to add a little sparkle to the heart.

Valentines Luv

Valentines is comin' around the corner and here is a great project to help you get into the season of love.

CRW_8485

To create this heart candy shaker I sewed different papers onto a 12x12 piece of paper
and then I traced the wood heart and cut it out of the paper.  I then used mod-podge to adhere the paper to the wood.  TIP= Put the mod-podge on thick like gravy and heavy weight paper adheres easier than a thinner weight paper. Also be sure to keep a hard plastic ruler on hand to help push out any air bubbles.

Its the most wonderful time of the year!

Happy Holidays :) I love this time of

year it truly is the most wonderful time of the

year. I have had so much fun spending

time with my family and celebrating with

them over the holidays. My favorite thing

that we did over the holidays is pulled

Boston & Dax through the snow on a snowmobile.

But sorry it has been a while since my

last post, but life in the adornit warehouse

has been crzy. We have been developing some

adorable new product for scrapbooking and

also for some new industries... soon to be

revealed {shhh.}

As we ring in the new year of 2009 we

feel really positive about the up-coming year

and we are excited to continue to deliver unique

and classic creations. We will also be celebrating

{13} years here at Adornit for manufacturing

scrapbooking products.

I just wanted to share some

photos that we took:
